PUBLIC NOTICE Notice is hereby given that a public hearing scheduled for Wednesday, May 7th, 2025, on behalf of ANCHOR, regarding the continuance of Allegany County Board of Zoning Appeals Case #975, Hearing #7, is hereby postponed. Hearing #7 for the aforementioned Case is now rescheduled for Wednesday, June 4th, at 5:00 p.m., within the County Commissioners’ Meeting Room, County Office Complex, 701 Kelly Road, Cumberland, Maryland. The subject of the aforementioned Case is as follows: Case No. 975, filed by ANCHOR, aggrieved by the issuance of a zoning certification for a wind turbine generator (WTG) array (a.k.a. IWECS) near Vale Summit. ANCHOR’s professional legal counsel has filed a petition to address an Administrative Error, Action or Ruling relative to the zoning certification’s issuance, and subsequently filed a second petition to address an Administrative Error, Action or Ruling relative to the zoning permit’s issuance. Pursuant to ยง360-141.D.(1).(a), Code of Public Local Law of Allegany County, Maryland, the Board of Zoning Appeals shall have the powe r to adjudicate an alleged error in order, requirement, decision or determination made by a County’s administrative official(s). ANCHOR desires to reverse or amend the decision of the County relative to the issuance of the zoning certification released January 17th, 2024 and/or the issuance of the zoning permit released February 28th, 2024, to an entity known as Dans Mountain Wind Force, L.L.C. The subject WTG array is proposed along the ridgeline of Dans Mountain at the terminus of Burning Mines Road, near Vale Summit, Election District 24. The aforementioned project, known as Dans Mountain Wind Force (DMWF), is further described by Allegany County Department of Planning & Zoning’s Land Use Permit #1507005 and Allegany County Board of Zoning Appeals Case #942-943.
