2025 City of Cumberland Community Development Block Grant Program City of Cumberland Community Development Staff announces the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) 2025 Annual Action Plan proposed projects for funding. These 12 projects fall under one of five categories: Housing, Facilities/Infrastructure, Economic Development, Admin/Planning, and Public Services for a total of $750,000; the estimated award from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. The contingency plan for an increase or decrease in the grant amount actually received from the grantor includes increasing or decreasing the City Infrastructure project accordingly. If the award falls below $700,000 the categories of public services and administration will also be decreased proportionately to remain below 15% and 20% respectively, as these are regulatory caps under the block grant program. These proposed CDBG projects will be presented at the regular Mayor and City Council meeting on Tuesday, May 6, 2025 and are slated for approval at the regular Mayor and City Council meeting on Tuesday, June 17,2025.
