NOTICE OF TWO PUBLIC COMMENT HEARINGS
Two public comment hearings in the above-entitled matter are scheduled concerning Jade Meadow III LLCs application for a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity (CPCN) from the Maryland Public Service Commission.
In-Person Hearing 1:
August 5, 2025 at the Allegany County Georges Creek Public Library at 6:00 PM located at 76 Main Street, Lonaconing, MD 21539.
In-Person Hearing 2:
August 6, 2025 at the Garrett County Public Library, Grantsville Branch at 6:00 PM located at 102 Parkview Drive, Grantsville, MD 21536.
The purpose of the hearings is to receive public comments in connection with the Application. The hearings will begin with a presentation of the Project by he Applicant; followed by a presentation by the Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Power Plant Research Program (PPRP) of its recommendations with respect to the Project; followed by the Office of Peoples Counsel (OPC); and the Technical Staff of the Public Service Commission of Maryland (Staff) as to their recommendations with regard to the Project.
Barring technical difficulties, recordings of the hearings will be posted on the Public Utility Law Judge Divisions YouTube Channel, https://bit.ly/2X6wLiP.
Written comments on the proposed Project may be submitted electronically through the Commissions website at www.psc.state.md.us, or by first-class mail with the Commissions Chief Clerk, Jamie Bergin, Maryland Public Service Commission, 6 St. Paul Street, 16th Floor, Baltimore, MD 21202, and must reference Case No. 9769. Comments may be submitted through Friday, August 8, 2025. Pursuant to the Commission's March 13, 2020 Notice of Waiver and Relaxed Filing Requirements, no paper copies need be submitted if the filing is public in nature and no more than 25 pages in length. The Commission encourages parties to use the Commissions e-file system for filing.
